Incline

THE INCLINE IS PRIVATE PROPERTY AND POSTED NO TRESPASSING. PUBLIC ACCESS IS NOT ALLOWED. TRESPASSING ON THE INCLINE IS ILLEGAL.

The City of Manitou Springs and the City of Colorado Springs are leading a public process to explore the feasibility of opening the Manitou Incline for public recreation and to develop a management plan that could guide recreational use. A Manitou Incline Task Force has been convened to guide this public planning process.  The Task Force will establish the framework for the broader public process, will serve as advisors on issues such as parking, site management, marketing, funding, and liability and will report back to the City Councils.  A consultant will be hired to complete the required studies and analyses, facilitate public meetings and prepare the plan. If done well, this management plan will benefit a broad range of interests including regional trail users, neighbors, businesses, the City of Manitou Springs and the City of Colorado Springs.

Meetings are held the second Thursdays of the month from 6p.m. to 8p.m. at the Manitou Springs City Hall Council Chambers – 606 Manitou Avenue. The public is welcome to attend and observe. Public comment is taken at the end of each meeting. Questions can be directed to either Aimee Cox, City of Colorado Springs, at acox@springsgov.com or 719-385-6532 or Dan Folke, City of Manitou Springs, at dfolke@comsgov.com or 719-685-2550.
